Vita - drop of life
2011
Branding, Graphic Design, Product Design
A short assignment to create a product involving water and then to brand it.
My focus became the importance of water and the different symbolic meanings it has had through history, diving into alchemy and ideas such as the memory of water.
With this as focus the product became a glass vial neckless including the precious substance as well telling of the water's origin and place of retrieval.

- The product is a glass vial neckless. It contains water from a local freshwater source. The main focus of the branding is to show that water is life and by wearing a drop of vita you are carrying with you the reason
for life on this earth. The aim is to show the symbolism of the product and show how precious and priceless water really is. Not only it’s importance in regards to giving life but by showing the different facts
about water that make you think about it in a new way.
The primary target group is women, 30 to 45, they fall into Minerva’s green segment. They care about the environment, enjoy art, design and travelling. Tourists are ideal, they like the idea of taking piece of the land home
or giving the vial as a gift.Name: Vita. Latin meaning “life”. ...In icelandic it means “know” which fits well with the goal to “inform” about the importance of water.

Silkscreen printed icelandic birds made for an exhibition at Design March in 2011.

A Typeface project. Still have to finish a few letters, and fix others. Will upload when I finish the rest.
The inspiration for the letters was my favorite place "Ugluholt" (Owl Hill), or in short "Holt." A place where life is simply perfect.
As a whole the typeface goes through the life of Ugluholt from A to Z, the plants and birdlife. Thus A stands for Auðnutittlingur (Common red pull), B stands for Bees and Blueberries, D is Dagstjarna, E is Eyrarrós, F is Fifa etc. etc.Typography, Illustration, Graphic Design2011 -
