I had the pleasure of doing editorial illustrations for an Airbnb Magazine's article on Iceland's literary heritage, current literary climate and the challenges that the small Icelandic language faces. It was a really fun project to work on.
The cover illustration features Snorri Sturluson writing the Eddas (Norse mythology sagas) in the 13th century.
The I contains the world tree Yggdrasil rising from the pages of the Edda manuscript. The N features Odin in the shape of a snake on his quest for the mead of poetry and then flying away as an eagle after achieving his goal.
